We have been exploring Norway and in doing so we took a look at the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. We looked at the amazing colours he used in his painting The Scream and the background behind the painting. We had a go at creating our own version using the beautiful reds, oranges and blacks that Munch used.
It was another uplifting morning in Holy Spirit S.P.S. as we heard all of the wonderful reasons why our winners of the Child of Achievement award were chosen for October 2018. Many teachers mentioned how difficult it was to choose just one winner this month and this illustrates just how hard our students are working and how well they are doing. Congratulations to all!
Ms. Cooney’s class worked brilliantly in teams to construct beautiful Viking longboats. Not only was Ms. Cooney delighted with the impressive longboats, she was thrilled to see her students work so well together. The boys and girls listened to one another, they helped one another and they were very proud of their constructions. Keep up the great work!
On the 19th of October 2018, our Cross Country team took part in an event in Tymon Park organised by our neighbours St. Damian’s. Forty children from 3rd to 6th class took part. There were five other schools there on the day. Each class level had their own race and distances ranged from 400m for 3rd class up to 900m for 6th class. Many girls and boys from Holy Spirit…
