After receiving your feedback of suggestions for classes this academic year for parents and guardians, the following courses and events are scheduled:
Fitness Bootcamp for Parents will commence on Monday 8th October in St. Paul’s Secondary School, 9.15 – 10am for 6 weeks. There are still places available. Contact Elma at 086 04267665 to book.
Irish Level 3 QQI is a 20 week course based on conversational Irish for parents and guardians, that will run from Thursday 11th October in the Parish Centre. It is now fully booked out due to great interest.
Cyber Safety and Social Media Parents Talk, delivered by Paula O’Connor, from Don’t Be Mean Behind Your Screen will be held in Holy Spirit Senior School Hall on Monday 15th October at 7pm. Paula is a knowledgeable and experienced speaker and will refer to gaming (Fortnite in particular). This is a relevant and practical talk for parents on a topic that affects all of us with children. The 5th and 6th classes will attend workshops with Paula the following day, during school hours, on cyber safety and social media. This will enable parents to have informed conversations with their children whilst the topic is still fresh. Please attend the evening talk if possible.
Helping My Child With Maths: There was a large response for parents looking for a course on Maths to help their kids with homework. After midterm break, I will be advertising places for a 6 week Tuesday course aimed specifically at Senior Primary School Maths. Keep an eye out for the text, as I expect this course will fill quickly.
