It’s our favourite time of the month in Holy Spirit Senior Primary School – Child of Achievement! This month, we heard about boys and girls showing great kindness to those around them, working hard during class and being very well-mannered and respectful. Well done to all of our winners!

Gardening with Dale

The 6th class students have been working with Dale to weed and clear the school garden for the new school year. Ms. Bookey’s class spotted an unexpected surprise; a dancing cocoon hidden under a leaf beside the garden boxes.

Scratch Junior

Scratch is a free programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games and animations. Ms. Cooney’s class had a brilliant time using Scratch Junior on the iPads for the first time recently and they look forward to exploring this further in future Digital Technology lessons!

School Garden

Ms. Cooney’s class enjoyed the recent sunny weather in the school garden. They were very busy clearing out a raised bed and composting! Two busy gardeners! More wonderful gardeners next to our beautiful apple tree!

Counties of Ireland

In September we have been learning all about the different counties in Ireland. We have looked up fun facts about them, what their county colours are and we looked at how each county differs. We were very interested in Dublin and Kerry of course!

Gifted Gymnasts!

We are very lucky to have a wonderful coach from Olympian Gymnastics teaching classes in Holy Spirit Senior Primary School again this year. The children have been learning a range of gymnastic actions to travel on the floor and on apparatus, as well as practising and performing forward rolls, handstands and cartwheels.
